Sarjapur Road is one of the hardest Bengaluru corridors to choose a school in. What decides your child’s day is less the school itself than where on the road it sits relative to your home. A campus eight kilometres away can be a twenty-five minute bus ride or more than an hour. The corridor’s schools are also younger than most, and many are still adding grades. So the most useful check here is whether a school is actually equipped to teach Grade 12, and the answer is on a page almost no parent reads.
TL;DR: Test the commute on a working morning before comparing anything else. Fees on Sarjapur Road vary widely, so take each school’s figure from its Mandatory Public Disclosure page and compare total mandatory cost. The strongest single check on this corridor is the laboratory list:
-
Secondary level: CBSE requires one composite science lab.
-
Senior secondary: CBSE requires separate Physics, Chemistry and Biology labs.
A school advertising Grade 12 without those three labs is describing a plan. Also check which streams each school’s senior secondary affiliation actually covers.
Sarjapur Road is a commute, not a location
The corridor runs a long way, and its sections behave very differently at peak hour:
-
the Outer Ring Road and Bellandur end
-
Ambalipura and Haralur
-
Kaikondrahalli and Kasavanahalli
-
Halanayakanahalli and Dommasandra
-
Kodathi and Carmelaram
-
Sarjapur town
Two things matter more here than on other corridors:
-
Junctions. A bus crossing a major junction in the peak direction can lose twenty minutes at one signal, so a route that avoids a crossing is often better than a shorter one.
-
Construction. Roadworks along the corridor have changed routes term to term for years.
Ask each school what time the bus reaches your address and drops back, and whether you are early or late on the route. A child first on and last off does an hour more a day than a child last on and first off, on the same bus, for the same fee.
Fees on Sarjapur Road: what to compare
No official average exists, and published figures for the same school often differ by tens of thousands of rupees. Some quote tuition only, others tuition plus annual fees, and many are stale. The Federal reported Karnataka private school fee increases of roughly 5 to 20 percent for 2026-27, so a two-year-old figure is materially wrong.
Three questions matter most on this corridor:
-
What is the total mandatory cost for my child’s grade, tuition plus any annual or resources fee?
-
Is it collected upfront, or billed through the year for trips and activities?
-
Which activities run in the timetable, and which are sold as extras? A lower headline fee with paid extras can cost more over a year.
Transport is optional and varies by school, so get a quote for your address. Our CBSE school fees guide covers mandatory and optional costs in full.
The laboratory check that tells you whether a school can really teach Grade 12
This is the most useful line on a Sarjapur Road school’s disclosure page.
-
Secondary stage: CBSE requires one composite science laboratory.
-
Senior secondary stage: CBSE requires separate Physics, Chemistry and Biology laboratories.
What a school has actually built tells you what it is equipped to teach, whatever its brochure says. A school listing three separate science labs has built for senior secondary. A school advertising Grade 12 with only a composite lab has not yet.
It matters on Sarjapur Road because many campuses are still adding grades. A Nursery enrolment is an eleven-year bet on whether the school can teach Grade 12 when your child gets there.
The same page gives three more checks:
-
Library. Is it a room with a stated area, or a corridor shelf?
-
Arts spaces. Do art, music, dance and theatre have named rooms?
-
Senior secondary streams. Approval is granted stream by stream, so Commerce approval is not Science approval. Verify on CBSE’s SARAS directory.
Timings and working Saturdays
Pin down four things per school:
-
Start and dispersal times for pre-primary and for the main school.
-
Which Saturdays are working, for which grades, and for how long.
-
What happens after an after-school activity: common drop point, extra transport charge, parent collection, or doorstep drop.
-
When the coordinator, counsellor and principal are available to meet parents.
The after-school answer divides schools most sharply for two-income families.
Seat pressure on this corridor
Sarjapur Road has grown residentially faster than almost any part of Bengaluru, and school capacity has lagged behind. Entry grades fill first.
When a school says a grade is full, ask what number the section is at, since CBSE allows up to 45 in exceptional cases and never more. Also ask whether the limit is the section or the campus. Our shortlisting guide sets out the CBSE norms behind these numbers.
Glentree Academy Sarjapur Road
Glentree Academy Sarjapur Road is at Halanayakanahalli, off Sarjapur Road, with CBSE affiliation number 831088.
Built for the curriculum. Glentree’s Whitefield campus took over an existing school. Sarjapur Road was built from scratch in 2018, so its infrastructure, systems and timetable were designed around the Learning for Life curriculum rather than adapted to it.
The lab test. The Sarjapur Road disclosure records a campus of 6,070 square metres with 59 classrooms of 47 square metres each. Specialist rooms include:
-
a composite science lab
-
separate Physics, Chemistry and Biology labs, each 92.67 square metres
-
a Math Lab, Montessori Lab and computer lab
-
art, music, theatre and dance rooms
-
a 114.34 square metre library
-
a 211.54 square metre auditorium
Senior secondary. The campus holds CBSE senior secondary affiliation, with Commerce as the approved stream. Glentree has applied to add Science combinations. Grade 11 and 12 admissions have not yet opened.
Sports and the Earth Lab. A new artificial football turf has been completed, alongside football, basketball, badminton and cricket facilities. The Earth Lab, which runs on all three Glentree campuses, is used within Science and EVS classes for work on soil, growing methods and sustainability.
After school. After-school programmes run on campus, including music, skating, sport and languages, typically twice a week. A child who already uses school transport is dropped at their usual doorstep after the activity, at around 4pm, with no extra transport charge.
Class size. Sections are capped at roughly 30 in higher grades and 25 in pre-primary.
Fees for 2027-28. Approximate annual tuition is ₹1.4 lakh for Nursery to UKG, ₹1.75 lakh for Grades 1 to 5 and ₹1.8 lakh for Grades 6 to 10, plus an annual resources fee. All mandatory costs are collected at the start of the year with no mid-year charges. New admissions pay a one-time admission fee. Transport, after-school programmes and overnight trips are optional.
Contact the Glentree admissions team for the exact grade-wise schedule.
Frequently asked questions
- What is the best CBSE school on Sarjapur Road?
- There is no official answer, because no body ranks schools in India, and several “best school on Sarjapur Road” pages are published by schools ranking themselves. Start with the commute, verify candidates on CBSE’s SARAS directory, then compare disclosure pages for classrooms, labs, staff and fees.
- What do CBSE schools on Sarjapur Road cost per year?
- The range is wide and no official average exists. Take each school’s figure from its disclosure page, check when it was last updated, and confirm whether it is tuition only or the full mandatory total. Glentree Academy Sarjapur Road’s approximate annual tuition runs from ₹1.4 lakh at pre-primary to ₹1.8 lakh for Grades 6 to 10, plus an annual resources fee.
- Does the school go up to Grade 12, and how do I check?
- Check the affiliation level on SARAS, and remember senior secondary approval is granted stream by stream. Then check the lab list on the disclosure page: separate Physics, Chemistry and Biology labs are required at senior secondary level. A Grade 12 claim without them is a plan, not a capability.
- How do I check that a school has the facilities it advertises?
- Use the disclosure page, which lists rooms with their areas. Look for individually named labs, a library with a stated area, and named arts rooms. Then check classroom area against the section size the school quotes, at one square metre per child.
- How long is the school commute on Sarjapur Road really?
- Often longer than the distance suggests. Eight kilometres can take twenty-five minutes or over an hour depending on junctions and roadworks. Ask for the pickup and drop times at your address and where you sit on the route.
- Which Saturdays are working?
- It varies by school and grade. Many schools have middle grades working the second, fourth and fifth Saturdays for a half day and senior grades for a full day, with younger grades off. Ask each school for its stage-wise pattern.
- Do Sarjapur Road schools have good sports facilities?
- It varies more than on older corridors, because some campuses were planned on larger sites and others are on tight plots. Ask how many PE periods your child’s grade gets each week, whether they are protected before exams, and whether ordinary students use the facilities or only competitive teams.
