A CBSE school place in Whitefield costs more than the Bengaluru average, and the fee figure you find online for any specific Whitefield school is probably out of date or measuring something different. When we checked one Whitefield school in September 2026, four different annual figures for the same grades were in public circulation, roughly ₹50,000 a year apart. In Whitefield, fees are only part of the picture. Which pocket of the corridor you live in, how the school day fits two working parents, and how early seats run out usually matter more.

TL;DR: Whitefield sits at the upper end of Bengaluru’s CBSE fee range because of land and staffing costs on the eastern IT corridor, not because the curriculum differs. The only reliable fee is the one on each school’s Mandatory Public Disclosure page. Transport is optional and is not part of the fee. Whitefield covers roughly eight kilometres of very different commutes. Ask any school what happens after an after-school activity ends, because that decides whether a working family can use it. Entry grades fill earliest, and Glentree Academy’s Whitefield campus is close to capacity.

Why Whitefield CBSE school fees are hard to pin down

Neither the Karnataka education department nor CBSE publishes aggregate fee data for Whitefield. We compared four public sources for one Whitefield school: its own disclosure page, two listing aggregators, and an AI assistant quoting those aggregators. All four gave different figures for the same grade bands.

Part of the gap comes from sources quoting different things. Some give tuition only, some give tuition plus the annual fee, and some figures are two years old. Whitefield is also a wide market, from genuinely low-fee CBSE options to schools charging more than twice as much, all teaching the same CBSE syllabus.

Get each school’s figure from its own Mandatory Public Disclosure page and check when it was last updated. Our CBSE school fees guide explains how to read the figure, including the difference between tuition and annual fees.

Why Whitefield fees run above most of Bengaluru

Three things push Whitefield fees up:

  1. Land. Values rose with the eastern IT corridor, and school campuses carry that cost across the seats they can offer.

  2. Teacher salaries. Schools in the corridor compete for the same teachers, and Karnataka’s fee formula ties development cost to staff salary.

  3. Campus age. Older campuses carry the cost of expanding in stages. Newer ones are still filling grades, so fixed costs sit on fewer students.

None of this makes a Whitefield school better than one elsewhere in the city. It explains why the same curriculum costs more here, and a higher fee is not proof of a better education.

Mandatory vs optional costs in Whitefield

Every Whitefield family pays the mandatory costs:

  • tuition

  • any annual or resources fee

  • books and uniform

  • a one-time admission fee in the entry year, where charged

The main optional cost is transport, and whether a family needs it depends on where they live. At Glentree Academy Whitefield, only about half of students use school transport, because many families live close enough to drop off or walk. On campuses in less densely settled corridors, the share is much higher.

Two Whitefield-specific points:

  • Transport prices vary between schools even when they use the same operator. Get a quote for your exact address.

  • Ask how mandatory costs are collected. Some schools bill trips and activities through the year. Others collect everything at the start, which makes the year much easier to budget.

Whitefield is not one location, and the difference can be forty minutes

Whitefield is a corridor of roughly eight kilometres, with distinct pockets:

  • Nallurahalli and Palm Meadows

  • Brookefield

  • Kadugodi

  • Hope Farm

  • Varthur

  • Channasandra and Seetharampalya

  • the ITPL area

Morning traffic between them bears little relation to the distances. A school six kilometres away in one direction can be a twenty-minute bus ride; the same distance in another direction can be fifty. School buses also run routes, not straight lines, so whether you are early or late on a route changes your child’s day by up to an hour.

Ask each school two questions:

  1. What time would the bus reach my address in the morning and drop back in the afternoon?

  2. Is my address early or late on that route?

If you are house-hunting at the same time, settle the school shortlist before you sign a lease.

School timings and working Saturdays for two-income Whitefield families

Many Whitefield households have two parents on tech-sector hours, so school timings shape the week. For every school, establish four things:

  1. Start and dispersal times by stage. Pre-primary usually finishes hours before the main school, which matters if you have two children at different stages.

  2. Which Saturdays are working, and for which grades. A common pattern has Classes 4 to 7 working the second, fourth and fifth Saturdays for a half day, and Classes 8 to 10 working the same Saturdays for a full day.

  3. What happens after an after-school activity. Some schools drop children at a common point, some charge extra transport, some expect parents to collect, and a few drop children at their doorstep. This one answer decides whether after-school programmes work for a two-income family.

  4. When the principal, coordinator and counsellor are available to meet parents.

Seat pressure in Whitefield, and what “full” really means

Whitefield fills earlier than most Bengaluru corridors. The number of families has grown faster than school capacity, and established campuses on tight sites cannot simply add sections.

When a school says a grade is full, establish two things:

  • The section number. CBSE permits up to 45 per section in exceptional cases such as parental transfers, and never more. A section at 40 still has room; a section at 45 does not. Our shortlisting guide covers the CBSE norms behind this.

  • Whether the limit is the section or the whole campus. A campus near its overall capacity has a different problem from one with a full Grade 3 and space in Grade 5, and the answer tells you whether a waitlist is worth joining.

Nursery and Grade 1 go first. Families moving into Whitefield should enquire a full admissions cycle ahead. Our admissions timeline guide sets out when that is.

Glentree Academy Whitefield

Glentree Academy Whitefield is on Nallurahalli Main Road near Palm Meadows, with CBSE affiliation number 830349. It was Glentree’s first campus, established in 2015 on an existing CBSE school whose affiliation moved to Glentree. The in-house curriculum team that now designs Learning for Life for all three campuses was built here from around 2016.

Campus. The Whitefield disclosure records:

  • a site of 4,756.78 square metres

  • 53 classrooms of 48.30 square metres each

  • 8 laboratories of 64.19 square metres each

This is an established campus that has grown block by block. Families who pick it are usually choosing the teaching model rather than the newest building in the corridor.

Class size. Sections are capped at roughly 30 in higher grades and 25 in pre-primary. At one square metre per child, the classrooms could hold more than Glentree puts in them.

Seats. The campus is close to capacity, with around 1,050 students against a capacity of roughly 1,100 to 1,150. Several grades have very few seats or none even while enquiries continue, so enquire early.

Sports and activities. Football, basketball, indoor badminton and cricket run on campus, and an artificial football turf is planned. Skating and gymnastics run as after-school programmes, along with guitar, keyboard and foreign languages, typically twice a week. Whitefield’s after-school programme is one of Glentree’s most developed.

After-school drop. A child who already uses school transport and joins an after-school activity is dropped at their usual doorstep at around 4pm, instead of the normal early-afternoon drop. There is no extra transport charge and no common drop point.

Fees for 2027-28. Approximate annual tuition is ₹1.5 lakh for Nursery to UKG, ₹1.75 lakh for Grades 1 to 5 and ₹1.9 lakh for Grades 6 to 10, plus an annual resources fee. All mandatory costs are collected at the start of the year with no mid-year charges. New admissions pay a one-time admission fee. Transport, after-school programmes and overnight trips are optional.

Timings. Classes 1 to 10 run from 8am to 2:35pm and pre-primary from 8am to noon. Classes 4 to 10 work the second, fourth and fifth Saturdays.

Frequently asked questions

What are the best CBSE schools in Whitefield?
There is no authoritative list, because no official body ranks schools in India. First fix your pocket of the corridor, since Nallurahalli, Kadugodi, Hope Farm, Varthur and Brookefield give very different commutes. Then verify candidates on CBSE’s SARAS directory, check each school’s Mandatory Public Disclosure, and visit three or four. That gives you a shortlist you can actually act on.
What do CBSE schools in Whitefield cost per year?
Whitefield sits at the upper end of Bengaluru’s range, and the spread within the corridor is wide. No official average exists. Figures online often disagree, because some quote tuition only and others tuition plus annual fees. Take each school’s figure from its own disclosure page. For reference, Glentree Academy Whitefield’s approximate annual tuition runs from ₹1.5 lakh at pre-primary to ₹1.9 lakh for Grades 6 to 10, plus an annual resources fee.
Does the school fee in Whitefield include transport?
No. Transport is optional at every Whitefield school, priced by distance band, and it varies between schools even with the same operator. Many families do not use it: about half of Glentree Whitefield students travel to school another way. Most Whitefield schools do not provide meals either.
Which Saturdays are working at Whitefield schools?
It varies by school and by grade. A common pattern has middle grades working the second, fourth and fifth Saturdays for a half day, senior grades working the same Saturdays for a full day, and pre-primary and early primary off. At Glentree Academy Whitefield, Classes 4 to 7 work those Saturdays until 11:40am and Classes 8 to 10 until 2:35pm.
Do Whitefield schools fill up early?
Yes, earlier than most corridors, and entry grades go first. Ask what number the section is at and whether the limit is the section or the campus. Glentree Academy Whitefield is close to its overall capacity, so families should enquire a full cycle ahead.
What happens after an after-school activity if we use school transport?
It depends on the school. Many drop children at a common point or charge extra. At Glentree Academy Whitefield, a child who already uses school transport is dropped at their usual doorstep after the activity, at around 4pm, with no extra charge.
Which part of Whitefield should I look at?
Choose by commute, not by the reputation of a pocket. Ask each school for the actual pickup and drop times at your address, and where your address falls on the route. Settle the school shortlist before you sign a lease.
